Extended research of new drug against diabetes

Research of drug used in diabetes, saxagliptin was extended from 30 April until 30 July decision of the control of food and medicines.
Company, which manufactures the drug, Bristol Myers Squibb and AstraZeneka itself requested the extension of the study.
Earlier this month, medical experts have determined that the product does not exceed regulatory risk of cardiovascular disease.
Saksagliptin this type of drug, called DPP-4 inhibitor, is aimed at raising the so-called hormone inkretina, which reduces the level of glucose in the blood.
The drug DPP-4 is currently on the market in the United States produces only pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. and Yanuviya.
At the end of last year, the Office for the control of food and medicines reported that pharmaceutical companies would have to conduct more rigorous clinical trials for drugs used in diabetes type 2, in order to better assess the risks of heart attack and stroke.
